Tips and tricks page
Most the tips below are for GWS
airplane kits but
can be applied to other foam park flyers from other manufactures.
1. The Glue that is
in GWS airplane kits is Contact cement:
To use it Correct paint a thin
layer on both surfaces to be joined then press the to half's
together then pull them apart, let the two half's sit for about 5
minutes then press them together again and let dry for about 30
minutes.
don't use it like
glue it takes forever to set you wont fly for a week..
2. When Building kits like the
gws Tigermoth airplane kit or the Pico F3 or Beaver Make sure you put a strip of packing
tape on the front edge of each wing it does not just protect the
wing it will make it stronger.
3. Make sure that you use GWS
Heat Sinks on all your ISP motors for the gws Tigermoth, Pico j3
cub, pico stick airplane kits otherwise they can overheat and burn out.
4. big tip the
gws tigermoth airplane kit, Pico J3
cub per instructions tell you to use double sided tape to hold the
wings together, Most of us who fly GWS airplanes use 5 minute Epoxy,
it holds then together much better and makes a stronger joint..
5. Don't Fly on Windy days, if
you plane when sitting on the ground is being moved around by the
wind ( Fly Another day ) Fly early in the morning or early
evening, or on calm days for Best performance.
6. I use
DU-BRO Micro Pushrod Systems on
all my planes makes setting up your controls so much faster and no
wires to bend..
7. Don't forget to balance your
Plane, every plane has its on CG ( Center Of Gravity) planes fly
much better when they are balanced.
8. Please read instructions
carefully and thoroughly before assembly in order to achieve safe
operation with maximum performance from your kit.
